Ek Villain Returns, Mohit Suri's second installment in his Ek Villain franchise has received lukewarm response at the box office.
After registering a decent opening of ₹7 crore on Friday and registering some growth on Sunday, the film took a sharp dive at the box office numbers on Monday.
Film trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared the film's four-day collection on Twitter. He wrote, "#EkVillinReturns Fri 7.05 cr, Shani 7.47 cr, Surya 9.02 cr, Mon 3.02 cr. Total: ₹26.56 crore. #IndiaBiz.
Hindustan Times' evaluation of the film called it "painful, pointless and psychotic".

Earlier, Disha Patani had said that the film is not about "who is the hero or who is the villain".

Producer Ekta Kapoor had said, "Getting someone to buy a ticket of ₹200 and watch the film, while they can watch it OTT months later, is a big challenge.
But the good thing about Ek Villain Returns is that It's a dramatic experience.
