Now, Karan Johar Tasting Success In South Cinema Too

Recently Karan Johar’s production house Dharma Productions acquired the official rights of the Malayalam movie ‘Hridayam’. Karan Johar expressed his delight and felt honoured to have acquired the rights of this beautiful, coming-of-age love story Malayalam film ‘Hridayam’. Pranav Mohanlal and Kalyani Priyadarshan starrer ‘Hridayam’, became a huge theatrical hit.

Is Karan Johar proving to be lucky for these South Indian movies or if one may wish to say that South movies are proving fortuitous for Karan. But why do we say this? Sample this; in the recent past we have seen Karan Johar’s Dharma productions getting attracted to South Indian films beginning with S S Rajamouli’s Prabhas starrer Bahubali 1 & 2, which Dharma presented/distributed and we know that Bahubali was not just a big hit but it also paved way to the concept of pan-India films.

Sankalp Reddy’s Telugu movie ‘The Ghazi Attack’ with Rana Daggubati in the lead was yet another project, also shot in Hindi, that Dharma presented/distributed and that too proved to be favourable. It seems K Jo has some kind of a midas touch that is coming into the play!

Karan Johar was also seen hosting an event in Mumbai for Rajamouli’s most awaited RRR. No marks for guessing that RRR is also ruling the Box Office. Talking about events, Karan hosted the grand trailer launch event of KGF Chapter 2 starring Rocking Star Yash and Sanjay Dutt and Raveena Tandon.

For K Jo, it wouldn’t be wrong to term him proving a lucky mascot for South cinema!

Apart from this, Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions is collaborating with Malayalam film actor Prithviraj Sukumaran’s production house for the upcoming film ‘Selfiee’ which is the official Hindi remake of the Malayalam film ‘Driving License’. Dharma Productions is also backing the upcoming pan-India film Liger starring Vijay Deverakonda and Ananya Panday in the lead with a debut by boxing legend Mike Tyson.

In nut shell, Dharma having acquired the rights of Malayalam film ‘Hridayam’ seems to be a step to continue its winning streak and should prove advantageous to all the parties involved.
